Thinking about an internship at Pulte Mortgage? Hear it straight from our summer intern, Aliyah!
At Pulte Mortgage, we believe internships should be more than just a line on your résumé. They should be meaningful, hands-on, and yes, even fun! This summer, we had the pleasure of working with a team of incredible interns who brought fresh ideas, great energy, and a whole lot of heart to the team. Here’s one of our interns sharing her take on what it’s really like to intern with us.
Why I Chose Pulte Mortgage
Throughout my internship experience, I had the opportunity to meet various department managers and executives within Pulte Mortgage, PGP Title and Pulte Insurance Agency. With every individual I met, the respect they had for the company was obvious. I appreciated how everyone was so approachable and always willing to help, showing me that the company culture really extended beyond initial interactions. No matter what position you hold at PulteGroup, everyone is treated with the same respect.
When it came to my position with Pulte Mortgage, I can confidently say it reconfirmed my passion for digital marketing. My team—Kaitlin Fullmer, David Lewis and Meagan Rochard—made me feel like a valued member from day one. I now feel like I not only have a better understanding of the corporate world, but also how to employ my digital marketing skills within a corporate setting.
What I Actually Did (Spoiler: It Wasn’t Getting Coffees)
From managing my own marketing campaigns to designing new backgrounds for Microsoft Teams, I was given many opportunities to advance my marketing skills and contribute to the company. These contributions included:
- Updating informational flyers, coordinated field signage with 30+ PFS branch managers nationally, and created new Microsoft Teams backgrounds for the company-wide rebrand.
- Creating five social media videos showcasing company culture and intern opportunities to boost our engagement online.
- Conducting a social media analysis of Pulte Mortgage’s main competitors to determine what content the company is lacking and leading in.
- Creating an internal campaign to boost social media engagement from Pulte employees.
My Favorite Moments This Summer
I really enjoyed being able to have creative freedom on my social media intern campaign. I was able to collaborate with different departments and my fellow interns to create fresh and engaging content for our social media channels. I loved capturing and editing my content and being able to showcase Pulte Mortgage’s culture in a fun way!
What I Took Away as a Pulte Mortgage Intern
After this summer, I have taken away much more than just marketing skills. I have a better understanding of the mortgage process and the inner workings of the corporate world. Pulte Mortgage made sure to give the interns valuable insight into their own department, as well as various departments within the company.
I now feel capable of balancing a professional tone with human, relatable messaging. Especially in the mortgage field, it can be difficult to make financial content appealing, so this position challenged me to do so. Furthermore, it has become more apparent to me how visual consistency builds credibility and professionalism, especially with the PFS rebranding. I have learned these skills are essential when marketing to the target audience and the company itself.
