Depending on where you live, you’ll want to consider these maintenance tasks to protect your property from any upcoming freezing temperatures! These five simple tasks can help save you time and money all winter long.

Protect your pipes. Once it drops below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, it’s best to keep your pipes insulated to avoid freezing and bursting.
Check the gutters. To prevent clogging, inspect and clean your gutters from leaves or other debris to avoid ice dams. This will also allow melting snow to drain properly so you can avoid leaks.
Seal your doors and windows. Weather stripping or installing storm doors and windows will help prevent cold air from entering your home and keep heat from escaping it.
Keep de-icing salt handy. To avoid slips, keep your driveway and sidewalks clear of ice and snow. De-icing salt is handy for sprinkling on these areas because it prevents ice from forming.
Clear the yard. Keep the trees trimmed and remove any dead branches or debris from your yard. Snow, ice and wind can weaken trees and cause branches to fall.
